How to Drink Wine and Not Become a Monster
I drink wine, often, and in high quantities. I have not always been in this habit, but it comes with the territory of being the Chief Wine Educator and Founder of WineUp. I get asked all the time, “How do you combat the undesired physical effects of wine”? I’m here to share the scoop with you my fellow oenophiles!
The Advantages of Being a Barista VS. a Bartender
I miss being a barista. There are times when I’m standing in line at my local coffee shop and I feel that dull pang of jealousy while I watch the busy bees behind the espresso bar slam pitchers and gallons of milk around with purpose and gusto, trading jokes and stiletto-sharp snark that only they can hear over the whoosh and screech of the steam wands

Trad’r Sam is my 2nd Favorite Tiki Bar in the World
The best tiki bar I’ve ever been to is Smith’s Union Bar in Honolulu’s Chinatown. It’s a shitty little tiki dive bar with even shittier karaoke. It’s also the oldest bar on the island. The night I was there it was is was full of Navy dudes, punk chicks, gay guys, and a big hulking, transgendered Pacific Islander.
The Things We Endure to Live in San Francisco
We decided to walk around the Tenderloin instead of go through it. I had my computer, Gene has his bike, and Sabrina had a bag of things I’m sure she didn’t want taken from her as well. We were coming from my weekly Wednesday gig at Monarch where I used to do a coloring book happy hour.
