Surrealism, Beauty, and Magic at the SF Ballet

It’s called Magrittomania, and it’s a ballet inspired by the surrealist Belgian painter Magritte, whose work is complex, metaphysical, and meant to unlock different perspectives in its viewers.  The Ballet inspired by his work somehow, quite ingeniously, accomplishes this too.

The SF Ballet is Back, and It’s Glorious  

There was a strong tingle of anticipation in the War Memorial Opera house on opening night. After two years without the pitter pater of ballerinas, without twirling tutus, and rippling Russian violins, The San Francisco Ballet was back performing live, and the excitement was palpable.

A “Brokening” Night at the SF Ballet

SF Ballet’s Opening Night was the perfect excuse to borrow my most fashionable friend’s outfit and soak in the culture of dance and the eye candy of all the stunning attendees of all ages.  The night began with a cocktail reception and dinner by McCalls Catering & Events at San Francisco City Hall, followed by a one-night-only performance at the War Memorial Opera House.
