Volunteer and Get FREE Disneyland Passes

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

This is a message to all those who love magic, happiness, and fun. While many may argue that Disney is a sexist, brainwashing, racist corporation that only cares about sucking cash from the masses, I argue that those people, while a little correct about the sexism/racism thing, can go suck an egg. That is my official stance because I FUCKING LOVE DISNEYLAND!!! I have an unhealthy love of Disney Princesses and the magical, soul warming nostalgia that comes with them. When I was little I would push myself up on the coffee table perfectly in sync with Ariel’s “Part of your world” reprise every time I watched the movie, which eventually wore out from excessive viewing. I admit, there are some pretty effed up messages behind a lot of the story lines, and what is up with the blatant daddy issues (most of the princesses have dead fathers, and wicked mother figures/villains)? But alas, my love has only grown stronger over the years when I was supposed to have grown up and started acting like an adult (psssssssssssh).

With all this undying love of princesses and Disneyland and junk, you can imagine my excitement when I caught wind of the Magic Kingdom’s newest promotion. All you have to do is volunteer for a participating organization for a day (or a shift, which in most cases is around 3 hours) and you get a FREE pass to Disneyland or Disney World! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Sorry. Anyway, it’s a great way to get involved in the community and get a $72 day pass absolutely FREE! The free-ness of the pass works well for me since I usually end up spending an obscene amount of money on treats (pickles, ice cream mouse ears, pineapple whip, the list goes on) and a crown. The promotion is only for 2010, but the voucher is good all year, so sign up asap. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go plan out my ride/food/fastpass strategy. I’m really good at Disneyland. Holla!

Ali was born and raised in the Wholesome/Creepy capital of the world, Salt Lake City, UT. Once she was old enough to blow that pop stand she escaped to the place that was the anti-SLC: The Peoples Gay-public of Drugifornia aka San Francisco (holla 30 Rock!). You can now find her throughout this glorious city slurping Pho and scheming with her best friend Pinky doing what they do every night; try and take over the world.
