Recycled Fashion Tomorrow Night at the de Young
The de Young museum in Golden Gate park is one of those places I generally only go to when I can take advantage of a free event. Lucky for us, they throw quite a few free events like tomorrow night’s installment of the Friday Nights at the de Young, their weekly excuse to host musicians, fashionistas and lecturers.
This week’s event showcases Discarded to Divine – a group of designers creating recycled fashions from discarded clothing. From 6-8:30, there’s a workshop on creating necklaces from recycled materials (probably better than giving your mom another painted macaroni necklace for Mother’s day), and the rest of the creations by up and coming Bay Area designers will be on display from 5pm until 8:45 with FREE music provided by California-gypsy jazzers: Fishtank Ensemble.
