Sushi Happy Hour at Sushi Delight

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

As a broke-ass, sushi isn’t usually one of my dining out options. And while it’s true that I probably won’t be able to afford anything super gourmet until a producer in Hollywood realizes how brilliant my original series teen drama pilot is, I can come kind of close to a 5-star sushi experience at Sushi Delight in Hayes Valley.

Every day from 5-7pm, they have $1 half shell oysters; $2 California rolls, spring rolls and edamame; 2-for-1 hot sake; $3 hand roll options; and large beers for $4.50. Don’t let the fact that there are zero customers in the restaurant deter you '“ they just don’t get it. My boyfriend and I were the only diners and the sushi chef must have been really bored because he made us FREE rolls. If you’re feeling fancy and don’t mind farting every five minutes, I recommend topping off your meal with their fried green tea ice cream.
