Party With Ashkon, The Giants “Don’t Stop Believing” Video Guy, at Manor West!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

"Brian Wilson in the niiiiiiiggggghhhhhhht!"

No one in San Francisco wants the Giants World Series excitement to be over — especially our livers.  Our poor organs are clearly going through withdrawals from not drinking heavily enough after the big win and this must be remedied.  Most of us are looking to Spring Training in March for our next big baseball moment after the announcement of Buster Posey’s National League Rookie of the Year title a couple days ago (!!!), but there’s something even more awesome to put on our calendars this week.

Remember the amazing “Don’t Stop Believing” Giants video that became the anthem for the whole Series?  Well, the musical genius (and friend of the site) who made it, Ashkon Davaran, is turning 30 and wants YOU to come celebrate with him at Manor West this Thursday!  There will be no cover and from 9pm – 11-pm, the bar will offer $2 Coors Lights and $3 Blue Moons.  On top of that, Ashkon will be releasing his new mixtape and performing “Don’t Stop Believing” AND other musical stylings — all for FREE.  I don’t know about you, but I’d love to shake the hand of the guy whose viral video led the Giants to victory.  And down as many cheap Blue Moons as I can in two hours.

Ashkon Davaran’s 30th Birthday Party at Manor West Thursday, November 18, 9pm – 2am 750 Harrison St. (btwn 3rd & 4th) FREE

UPDATE: We just learned that another favorite of ours, Richie Cunning is performing too!

Christy Jovanelly - Cheapskate Commentator

When Christy announced she was leaving her family's Southern California home and moving to San Francisco, her mom said, "Have fun in that den of sin." This is the only (however sarcastic) advice Christy has ever taken from her mom, who also told her to join eharmony.com and cover her eyes during sex scenes in movies. Christy puts her creative writing degree to good use by locating the typos on Chinese food menus and spends most of her time challenging friends to all-you-can-eat contests and trying to get that one bartender at Zeitgeist to smile.
