Brush Up On Your Guitar-Making Skills at Bazaar Cafe

Let your inner craftsman/woman soar!!

Pretty soon it’ll be too late for New Year’s resolution references (if it isn’t already), so I better use them all up while still appropriate.

New Year’s Resolution No. 3:  Appear devastatingly attractive to members of the opposite sex.  For mating purposes, obvi.  This is a purposefully open-ended resolution that can be achieved with such little effort as plucking one’s eyebrows or as much effort as finally moving out of one’s mom’s basement.  However, to be absolutely certain aforementioned attraction is created, I would suggest something to do with music, because you don’t want to seem attractive to people who aren’t turned on by music anyway.  Those people are boring and probably also have herpes.

One route to go is learning to play an instrument, or if you already play, just play a lot more.  Unfortunately, instruments cost money.  While some are more affordable than others, I find it difficult to keep a straight face while writing that playing the kazoo will impress a potential mate as much as, say, playing the cello.  What’s a broke-ass to do?

Attend the FREE guitar-making event at Bazaar Cafe tomorrow night, that’s what.  What’s even cooler than playing an instrument?  Building that shit with your bare hands.  Manual labor has always been nature’s aphrodisiac (does this make sense?  Doesn’t matter because in the hour I’ve been contemplating it, I also just made my own guitar).  At this month’s edition of Bazaar Cafe’s How-To Night, local musician Mario deSio will blow your mind with past and in-progress creations, including electric and acoustic guitars.  I have no idea how this works, but I’m pretty sure the finished products are cooler AND cheaper than anything you’ll find on Craigslist.
