TEXT: More than Something You Do on Your Phone
Do you text? I might as well ask, “Are you alive?” But the word “text” has a long and storied definition that mainly just means “words.” Tonight is your last chance to learn more about this ancient phenomenon at Soap Gallery‘s FREE TEXT exhibit.
Yes, you’ll have to read a lot in this exhibit, but the decent canvas of the white-walled space makes it easier. This exhibit of 15 artists examines the written word through a variety of media — cloth, paint, photography, etc. It appears to be a bit random and thrown-together, but that doesn’t exactly seem to be out of character for the gallery. That can be fun, right? Anyway, if it sucks, you can always salvage the trip by wandering over to the 3300 Club and binge drinking until you forget how to read.
