How to ‘Hit’ All the Best Events at Folsom Street Fair
All this is thanks to Folsom Street Events…enjoy!
Leather Week climaxes Sunday in our favorite day of the year, the Folsom Street Fair. The world’s largest leather event with the illustriously sordid 30-year history rears its clothing-optional head again Sunday, September 27 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. in South of Market. If you’re anything like me, you wake up 7 a.m. on that day to get your outfit ready and you still don’t make it out of the house until, like, 2. So to help plan what time you have at the Folsom Street Fair and beyond, here’s a list of the highlights and lowbrows at Folsom Street Fair you’ll definitely want to hit.
MAGNITUDE (SATURDAY NIGHT, SEPTEMBER 26)
Magnitude, the official Saturday night dance event of the Folsom Street Fair, helps you party too hard and miss the Folsom Street Fair Sunday with 2,500 hot leathermen at The Midway in Dogpatch. Advance tickets are sold out, but you can still get ’em at Mr. S in SoMa and Phantom & Chaps in the Castro.
FOLSOM STREET FAIR MUSIC STAGES
Ladyhawke is headlining at the Main Stage (10th & Howard, the phallic microphone icon above) at 5:15 p.m., with Missing Persons at 4:15, AVAN LAVA at 3:15 and Steed Lord at 2:15. Marga Gomez kicks off the Main Stage action at 11 a.m.
FOLSOM STREET FAIR AFTERPARTIES
The official Folsom Street Fair afterparty is Deviants at Mezzanine from 6 p.m.-2 a.m., featuring DJ Harvey and the Honey Soundsystem residents.
