BAS Pride 2016: Two Awesome Pride Kickoff Parties Tonight!
Pride 2016 may be one of the most important in recent memory. Out of the tragedy of Orlando, a wave of solidarity has spread across the world and it has galvanized our community to respond with love, to speak out against our culture of violence, stand with our Latinx, Muslim, and poc brothers and sisters, and be as fucking queer as possible.
Every year there is hardly a dearth of things to do during the high holy days of Pride Week, but it’s all the more so this year! Be sure to check in here at BAS for events, exhibitions and actions every day this week and we’ll do our best to keep you in the big gay loop! Well, it’s hump day and Pride is pumpin’. Just about this time it might be wise to take in a little sustenance while you still go the chance!
Once upon a time, there was a little lefty leaflet called the San Francisco Bay Guardian. In addition to being the city’s goddamn conscience, they also threw a pretty fine-ass Pride kick-off every year. It just so happens that it’s current incarnation, 48 Hills, is comprised of the same progressive party animals that made that pig-out such a blast. That’s right, my little sucklings, 48 Hills’ Pullin’ Pork For Pride is back again for the second year with the Harvey Milk Club as co-hosts. $10 will get you all the suds you can guzzle and Sneaky’s will be on hand with their lip-smacking meats (and faux meats as well.) Proceeds from the brew sales will go to 48 Hills and Harvey Milk so they can keep fighting the good fight with allies like Jane Kim and throwing many more barbecues. After all, if that’s what’s on the table, why settle for Weinies?

Once, you’ve reamed your last plate of cue, it might be time for some bodywork. Thankfully, Partytime Lovers will be sending out some rhythms close by to get your night moves on at their Pride edition.
With a mouth full of meat and head, you’d be hard-pressed not to find a lover in the always-appropriate Make-Out Room.
