SF’s Tablehopper Becomes Member-Supported
Here at Broke-Ass Stuart, we highlight people who are doing great things – including other independent news sources which can help you find the best adventures within the Bay Area. Founder and editor of tablehopper, Marcia Gagliardi, shared some news with us.
What is Tablehopper?
Tablehopper has been a free insider newsletter and resource for over 17 years. It started with humble beginnings and has grown into being a great resource for what’s happening within the food and hospitality industry within San Francisco.
You can often find some breaking restaurant news on tablehopper. Gagliardi recently broke a story about Chef Bruce Hill in which she let readers know that Hill will be stepping away from Bix’s kitchen after more than 20 years (he also recently shut down his restaurant Zero Zero in San Francisco).
The Exciting News:
This past month, Gagliardi announced a new adventure for her business.
Tablehopper will now be member-supported!
“It feels soooo good to take this big step to a member-supported platform, because you really are the most amazing community. After 17 years of providing this newsletter and content for free, the only way tablehopper can continue, let alone evolve and expand, is through this new subscription platform,” says Gagliardi within one of her recent newsletters.
What’s next for tablehopper?
Gagliardi will be sharing out new types of content in her site update. This will include lifestyle stories and also budget friendly eats (which aligns with our values over at Broke-Ass Stuart for sure).
“My goal is to inspire people to dine out, even if they think they can’t afford it right now. While tasting menus and $45 entrées became the norm in these crazy times of inflation, there are so many places where you can have a fun and delicious night out without crying over the bill. Go see a gallery show or jazz set and let me tell you about a great bar and noodle spot nearby. I want people out exploring and having a good time. I know all about ballin’ on a budget,” says Gagliardi.
“Help you live your best San Francisco Life” is one of tablehoppers slogans. In order to help you live your best life, she is also looking to live her best life by evolving. So far, she’s had some great response from her fanbase about the shift and it’s exciting to see someone digging in and continuing to share their love of The City with us all.
