One of the things you all know I love most is live music and the richness of our Bay Area music scene. Whether it’s supporting local hip hop legends who are making a difference, talking about great places to hear live music or diving into the writing process at events like Qamp. Well, exciting news – there’s a new kid on the block making some noise in the music scene, and it’s called Music City San Francisco.

There’s a newly opened rehearsal space in SF that has a deep history and is ready to help local musicians make some amazing music! After a cool $20 million makeover, Music City is back in action this month. Originally established in 2005 as “Plug N’ Play” and then “Music City Rehearsal,” Music City is a music hub and artist accelerator which has fostered the largest music community around. It’s seen the start of so many local bands and cool artistic projects..

SF Native and musician Rudy Colombini, turned the 29,000 square foot space in The Lower Polk area into an awesome place that’s basically a dream for musicians. There are multiple uses for the space with a San Francisco Music Hall of Fame, four live venues, and a whopping twenty high-tech rehearsal studios that can even do live streaming. Plus, they’ve got educational stuff and programs for artists to grow – it’s the whole package!

Colombini has set up this artist development hub not just for local young talents but also for up-and-coming artists from all over the nation. And trust me, he knows the ropes – drawing inspiration from his own career as a recording artist and leader of the Unauthorized Rolling Stones.
