The King of the Cello Concertos has Landed in San Francisco
SF Philharmonic plays Pictures at an Exhibition and Dvorak Cello Concerto with Amos Yang this March at its home in The Herbst Theatre! With the prolific founder and conductor of the San Francisco Philharmonic Jessica Bejarano (the self described “tattooed lesbian Latina”), together they are focused on taking world-class symphonic music off the pedestal and into the heart of our community.
This upcoming show promises to be a gorgeous performance, especially for fans of cello! The San Francisco Philharmonic has a thrilling program of classical music planned, Amos Yang, assistant principal cello with the San Francisco Symphony will perform Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, which is often called “The King of the Cello Concertos.” Also on the program is Mussorgsky’s iconic Pictures at an Exhibition, a colorful orchestral suite that transports listeners to an art exhibition.
