Bua Book Signing at Moe’s Books in Berkeley
I’ve been friendly with Justin Bua for a number of years now. We first met back when I lived above Caffe Pergolesi in Santa Cruz. My buddy Sayre and I were in line to grab some kind of caffeinated beverage and we noticed that the guy in front of us was looking at a portfolio of Bua’s artwork. Since we had a few Bua prints in our apartment upstairs, we asked the guy if he was a big Bua fan (because we were) and he replied, “Actually, I am Bua”. We ended up hanging out with him and chatting for a few hours, and I’ve pretty much been friends with the guy ever since.
If you went to college, there’s a very good chance that one of your friends had a Bua print up in their place. His work is ubiquitous in the college scene, and with good reason: it’s fucking awesome.
If you’re a cats that has some Bua prints, now is your chance to get that shit signed. He’ll be at Moe’s Books in Berkeley on Tuesday July 14th to promote his new book The Beat of Urban Art. He’ll also be unveiling his brand spanking new Michael Jackson tribute piece.
