FREE Extreme Animals Show Tuesday at SoEx

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

YouTube’s a pretty great invention. I like that there are heart-meltingly adorable otters holding hands and episodes of Food Party all in the same magical place.

I had never heard of 'œhigh-NRG electronic music band' Extreme Animals (David Wightman and Jacob Ciocci from Paper Rad) before but judging from their MySpace page and YouTube videos, if you go to their FREE show at Southern Exposure, you’ll experience a Tuesday night to put all other Tuesday nights to shame. Or at least make most Tuesdays jealous.

The event is described as 'œa disjunctive array of live shredding, extreme feedback, YouTube bombardment, ecstatic dance moves and Sunday morning cartoons.' I’m imagining it to be what it would be like if you put a bunch of YouTube videos in a blender, dumped in a Nerds Blizzard from DQ and a Redbull, threw in a plugged-in amp and drank it up with a straw. Delicious mind-jolting brainfreeze.

(If you go, let me know how far off I was with the blender image.)

Jessica was born, moved around a lot and has an odd dialect to prove it (see: hella, bubbler, and cawfee), and is now precariously settled in SF. Despite graduating high school too many years ago to count, she was crowned Prom Queen this summer and considers her life complete now. Last year her production editing job was outsourced to the Philippines. Hope they like it. Luckily for you, this Lady of Leisure is currently accepting applications for the position of Wealthy Benefactor.
