Bustin’ a Move on MUNI

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Do NOT forget your dancing shoes this weekend on your MUNI commute, because there’s a special bonus included with your usual $2 fare. If you find yourself on the K, L, or M MUNI lines on October 15 and 16, you will find yourself as a part of the audience of the 8th Annual San Francisco Trolley Dance, between the Civic Center’s San Francisco Main Public Library, all the way to West Portal Station.

Performance tours, led by “tour guides” of an extraordianry lineup of Bay Area dance troops. ODC/Dance launches the dance tour at the Main Library with a premiere by Co-artistic Director KT Nelson. Expect performances by Sweet Can Circus, 2011 Bay Area Dance Troupe Competition winner Salsamania, Jodi Lomasks Capacitor, Tat Wong Kung Fu Lion Dancers and Epiphany Productions Sonic Dance Theater.

All performances are accessible at no cost for those passing by; bicyclists have a bike route map to visit the various performances available to them at the event’s starting point

Bicyclists can make use of a do-it-yourself-bike route map to each location, available at the event’s starting point.
Guided performance tours start at the San Francisco Main Library every 45 minutes beginning at 11 a.m. and take 1-1/2 hours to complete. The last tour leaves at 2:45 PM. For wheelchair accessibility please arrive for the 11:00 AM tour on Saturday and Sunday, still a first come first serve basis– so keep that in mind!

Should be pretty epic, so check it out!

Paulette Greenhouse - The Penny Pincher

Paulette Greenhouse - The Penny Pincher

Paulette Greenhouse is a journalist and graphic designer, obsessed with her beloved pet hedgehog, Lisa Pickles. Seriously, she can talk about that prickly little princess for days! Paulette enjoys fashion, music, and art (cool points are gained if DIY). Although she tells outsiders that she lives in San Francisco, Paulette actually lives in nearby Pacifica because she can't afford to be that cool. The truth is she hates money and believes that it is source of many major problems in the world. But since society has made money so damn important for adequate survival, she slaves away at a lame local corporate restaurant, receiving crappy tips from people even cheaper than she is. (damn!) But above all, Paulette believes in giving exact change– it's a way of life!
