W.M.P. Concert Hall

Staying cultured in this city can seem daunting and expensive. Especially when you’re a classical music lover like myself. Which is why I was so excited to stumble on the W.M.P. Concert Hall inside the Gradoux-Matt Rare Violin shop. Every Wednesday at 12:30pm, owner Emmanuel Gradoux-Matt hosts Strad for Lunch, a 45 min to an hour concert featuring a stringed instrument created by Stradivari. The concert hall itself is intimate enough that you feel as if you’re in someone’s beautifully chandeliered living room for a private concert. And at a suggested donation of $10, it’s an amazing deal. I was fortunate enough to sit in on a concert featuring a violinst who has played with the New York Philharmonic and a pianist studying for a Masters at Juilliard. The musicians change every Wednesday so check the website for details.
