Cheap Beauty Tip of the Week: DIY Face Masks
Five-star spa facials are amazing. They’re also quite expensive. If you can afford to take time off of work and splurge on something as luxurious as a spa day, lucky you! But just because your broke doesn’t mean your skin has to suffer and you can’t pamper yourself. For all of us broke-asses out there, Do-It-Yourself facial masks are always in-season. DIY facial masks are awesome because they’re cheap and easy to make. The ingredients can be easily found at a local grocery store, farmer’s market or in your own kitchen. You don’t even have to leave the comforts of your own home to enjoy an all-natural spa day. These DIY treatments are 100% natural, making them beneficial for your skin on both the inside AND out.
Here are three of my all-time favorite DIY face masks recipes:
A Natural Brightener
Use to brighten up the skin and give it an all-over glow.
Ingredients:
4 strawberries
2 slices of papaya
½ of a banana
2 tbsp of yogurt
1 tbsp f honey
¼ cup of sugar
Directions:
Blend ingredients together until smooth. Apply generously all over clean skin, including both the face and neck. Leave mask on for 15 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
The Strawberry Detox
Use to clean out pores and soften up the skin.
Ingredients:
3 strawberries
1 tbsp of cornstarch
1 tbsp of milk
Directions:
Blend ingredients together until smooth. Apply generously all over clean skin, including both the face and neck. Leave mask on for 10 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
One Young Pumpkin
An all-natural, anti-aging mask that fights off fine lines and wrinkles.
Ingredients:
2 tsp of canned pumpkin puree
½ tsp of honey
¼ tsp of heavy whipping cream
Directions:
Blend ingredients together until smooth. Apply generously all over clean skin, including both the face and neck. Leave mask on for 10 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
