Fluorescent furs: Baruch Porras- Hernández, (me llamo) Sebastián, and Kevin Seaman

Ah, tender is tonight….

No, a Fitzgerald drama is not on the roster at the Oasis this evening, although boozy spirals, some good old-fashioned Jennifer Jones-style scenery chewing, and some guy named Dick Diver could hardly seem completely out of place in that particular venue.

Instead, SoMa shall be treated to the softer side of the ursine set as Lilith Bear presents, for one night only, Osos Amorosos (Tender Bears). A gentle fantasia of gay bear, genderqueer and Latino identity themes, the show is headlined by SF artists Baruch Porras- HernándezKevin Seaman, and featuring Chilean singer-songwriter, (me llamo) Sebastián, in the final performance of his three week North American Gira Tierna- Homeless Tour.

Complimenting the evening’s program of sound, sight and song, will be other citywide sensitives, including, queer singer/songwriter Derek Schmidt, trans spoken word artist Kay Nilsson, 2015 Drag King Mason Dixon Jars, drag queens Tamale Ringwald and Sue Veneer, filmmaker Aron Kantor (Dirtyglitter), and DJ Cholula Caliente.

We decided to get to reach out to the tender hearts behind this teddy bear picnic and now present to thee our Broke-Asses of the Week! Yaaaay! –S.T.

Stephen Torres - Threadbare-Fact Finder (Editor, San Francisco)

Stephen's early years were spent in a boxcar overlooking downtown Los Angeles. From there he moved around the state with his family before settling under the warm blanket of smog that covers suburban Southern California. Moving around led to his inability to stay in one place for very long, but San Francisco has been reeling him back in with its siren song since 1999.
By trade he pours booze, but likes to think he can write and does so occasionally for the SF Bay Guardian, Bold Italic and 7x7. He also likes to enjoy time spent in old eateries, bars and businesses that, by most standards, would have been condemned a long time ago.
