Move over runway models, there’s a new icon in town, and he’s gubernatorially good-looking. Men’s Wearhouse has the most unexpected, yet totally expected new spokesperson: The Bay Area’s own…Gavin Newsom.

Upon hearing the news of Newsom’s collaboration with Men’s Warehouse, one might initially be shocked, but upon further reflection, it all seems to fall into place. It’s widely acknowledged that Newsom possesses a striking appearance. Just envision him in a 3-piece suit… or even in just khakis and a button-down; Newsom effortlessly outshines any model they could possibly hire from an agency.

The more one ponders this new partnership between Newsom and the iconic Men’s Warehouse, the more it makes complete sense. As the face of “The Newsom” Collection, Newsom is poised to redefine suave sophistication.

To preserve the surprise of the partnership, some of the model photos on their site were digitally altered to conceal Newsom’s face, but here are some of the unedited images.

Image sourced from the Men’s Wearhouse homepage*, featuring Newsom clad in a classic Men’s Wearhouse blazer, exuding a Blue Steel look. This ensemble communicates, “I’m effortlessly stylish, but not overly so, because then it seems like I’m trying too hard, and then it’s like I forgot my tie, so I’m going for a casual yet fashionable vibe.” This style masterpiece is officially christened “The Newsom.” Forget the old slogan; it’s now “You’re Gonna Like The Way I Look.”

Newsom has enjoyed sponsorship from Men’s Warehouse for some time, but his role as a spokesperson is a fresh development – and it’s generating excitement. Some may have caught his subtle hint about the partnership during a recent speech in Sacramento when he quipped, “You’re going to like the way I talk, I guarantee it.” More photos of Newsom in a blue suit and white top? Yes, please! Though, it’s worth noting that he’s just like us and occasionally opts for jeans.

Here’s Newsom at the 40th Anniversary Gay Pride Parade in San Francisco, sporting some of the on-brand jeans from Men’s Warehouse, paired with a classic, nearly see-through button-up, conveying the message, “I’m just like you, and also, it’s really hot today, and I’m uncomfortable, but at least I don’t have to wear a blazer.”

Katy has lived in The Bay Area since the age of 3. While other kids were attending summer camp & soccer practice, she was raised selling wares at craft shows with her working artist parents and spent vacations in a small 1920s Montana log cabin. This has all given her a unique perspective on the ever-changing texture of San Francisco and the Greater Bay Area. Currently a blend of all that is The Bay Area - she's a web designer at a tech-company, artist and DIY teacher.
