Tuesday, 8/24

Rifftastic: The All-Crowd-Work and Riffing Show ft. Joe Klocek
8:00 pm 
| Punch Line SF, 444 Battery Street | $18-26

Voted “Best Comic” in the 2011 SF Weekly Readers Poll, Joe Klocek is bringing his crowd-work talents to the forefront tonight. The show material will be entirely based on YOU, the audience, so you never know what to expect – except a whole lotta laughs!

 

Wednesday 8/25

Theatre Flamenco 55th Anniversary Pop-Up 
7:00 pm
 | Mission Bowling Club, 3176 17th Street | $15-100

Celebrate the 55th Anniversary of local treasure Theatre Flamenco with this exciting outdoor pop-up dinner performance. Enjoy live flamenco music and dancing on the patio, and nibble on deliciousness provided by Lasagna Pop-Up by Marinucci’s Pasta  (NO tickets will be sold at the door day-of, so make sure to reserve your table AND order your dinner in advance!)

 

 

Mac Sabbath
Doors at 7:00 pm, show at 8:00 pm

Mac Sabbath is exactly what you’re hoping it is – a gloriously unholy mashup of fast food and hard rock. Ronald Osborne, Slayer Mac Cheeze, Grimalice, and the Cat Burglar are here to treat you to an un-happy meal of burger-themed Black Sabbath tributes, along with a veritable buffet of badassery. Move over ICP, this clown and his posse are on a magical, musical warpath!

Thursday, 8/26

Apocalyptica – Cell-O Tour with Lacuna Coil

Be still my teenage heart!!! The Finnish orchestral rock band Apocalyptica is bringing their cello-driven metal to The Regency and I’m losing my overdramatic princess-goth mind! And what’s more, they’re bringing Evanescence’s Italian cousin, Lacuna Coil, for some soaring femme vocals and churning, grinding rock. I’ll see y’all there!

The World According to Sound Live! Outside In

You may have already experienced The World According to Sound via NPR’s “All Things Considered,” or as a 90-second podcast. Now, the project’s creators have turned it into a one-of-a-kind live experience. Bring a blanket or pillow, get comfy, close your eyes, and be immersed in evocative, intensely-rendered audio images….

Sundown Cinema: Sister Act

Who doesn’t love a good movie night with 1000 of your best friends? Sundown Cinema is back, and every other week they’ll be taking over a different Bay Area park for a free screening of family-friendly classics. Kick the season off tonight with Sister Act in Mission Dolores Park – bring your picnic supplies, and don’t forget the blankets!

 

The Emo Night Tour: Oakland

Quaranpalooza: Playing for a Cause – Livestream Music Fest

Daft Punk’s Discovery – 20th Anniversary Dance Party

Twenty years ago, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo created a follow up to their debut “Homework” that would change the face of dance music, marrying their house and techno roots with disco, synthpop, and R&B influences. Pay tribute to these electronic pioneers with an epic dance party in their honor, featuring the robot duo’s classic hits played on the world-class VOID soundsystem, along with visuals from Interstellar 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.

Lizzie Locker has been an artist, entertainer, and “glamour girl” since birth. Since 2017, Lizzie has been writing professionally for small businesses, as well as creatively. She has published essays in VIE Magazine, and has written website and social media content for pole dance studios, afterschool programs, and reference sites. At the same time, Lizzie has also continued to develop her performance career at queer nightlife events across the Bay Area. She can be found both onstage and off, reading her stories aloud in bars, emceeing drag and burlesque shows, and producing arts events that defy genre and expectation.
