BREAKING: Kamala Harris Is Joe Biden’s Vice Presidential Pick
Former San Francisco district attorney, California attorney general, and current California senator Kamala Harris has been selected as Joe Biden’s vice presidential running mate, according to Biden’s own Twitter account. The news has been confirmed by NBC News, Bloomberg, and NPR.
I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate.

Born in the Bay at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center, Sen. Kamala Harris was the first Black, American-Indian woman to run for president, and only the second-ever Black woman elected to the Senate. This is a major historical landmark moment, as Harris is now the first Black woman on a major party’s national ticket. Her presidential campaign was not a huge sucess, as she did not win a single state primary, but she did offer some very progressive ideas.
never forget kamala harris passed a truancy law in CA that punished parents if their kids missed school with a criminal misdemeanor (a $2500+ fine or a YEAR in jail) which targeted poor Black/brown families

But she is not as progressive as many of our readers would like. Her school truancy postions disproportionately prosecuted parents of color. As state attorney general, she fought to uphold many wrongful convictions obtained through evidence tampering and false testimony. As SFGate reports, Trump actually donated money to Harris’ campaign in 2011 and 2013!
